Before you dive too deep into a project, it's always a great idea to learn a bit about sanding. With some very basic techniques and machinery taught to you in WRK103, you can greatly improve the quality and time it takes to make your projects a masterpiece. Almost every project benefits from sanding.
In WRK103, we'll teach you how to operate a variety of different sanding machines to really make your project stand out.

In this course, you'll learn:
How to identify both belt sander (oscillating and stationary), random orbit sander, disc sander and oscillating spindle sander, as well as how to use them properly and safely.
To recognize different grits of sand paper and when to use each grit.
How to track a belt on a belt sander.
How to change belts on a belt sander.
To change between the oscillating belt to an oscillating spindle on the WEN sander.
How to put the workpiece guard on the WEN sander for belt sanding.
How to identify the proper throat plate to use when spindle sanding and the procedure for securing a spindle.
Disc sander direction rotation, and its implications when working on projects.
How to change sanding discs
The rotation pattern on a random orbit sander and why it’s helpful in woodworking.
